Photocurrent detection of radially polarized optical vortex with hot electrons in Au/GaN

چکیده

We report a GaN based metal–semiconductor–metal (MSM) infrared photodetector enabled with azimuthally distributed sub-wavelength gratings fabricated on one of the working electrodes. Under illumination, hot electron transfer is introduced by plasmonic resonance in waveband formed at interface Au/GaN. Without help using any external optical polarizers, device able to detect radial polarization vortices form photocurrents prescribed response spectrum. The detector exhibits 10%–90% rise and fall time 0.9 ms under modulated light, much faster than that conventional ultraviolet MSM photodetectors band edge absorption. This work provides viable way measure spatially variant beams compact from wide bandgap semiconductors.

Focusing of Radially Polarized Lorentz Gaussian Beam with One on Axis Optical Vortex

Focusing properties of radially polarized Lorentz–Gauss beam with one on-axis optical vortex was investigated by vector diffraction theory. Results show that intensity distribution in the focal region can be altered considerably by charge number of the optical vortex and the beam parameters. Many novel focal patterns may occur, Such as Peak-centered, and other focal shapes which is potentially ...

Circularly polarized light detection with hot electrons in chiral plasmonic metamaterials

Circularly polarized light is utilized in various optical techniques and devices. However, using conventional optical systems to generate, analyse and detect circularly polarized light involves multiple optical elements, making it challenging to realize miniature and integrated devices. While a number of ultracompact optical elements for manipulating circularly polarized light have recently bee...

FDTD simulation of trapping nanowires with linearly polarized and radially polarized optical tweezers

In this paper a model of the trapping force on nanowires is built by three dimensional finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) and Maxwell stress tensor methods, and the tightly focused laser beam is expressed by spherical vector wave functions (VSWFs). The trapping capacities on nanoscale-diameter nanowires are discussed in terms of a strongly focused linearly polarized beam and radially polarize...

Optical detection of keV-electrons

Channeltrons are widely used for the detection of electrons and ions. The signal amplification is high, which enables the detection even of single particles. The amplification due to electron multiplication requires however the application of a high voltage inside the vacuum system which allows low energy electrons and ions produced by ionisation of the residual gas to drift into the channeltro...

Hot plasmonic electrons for generation of enhanced photocurrent in gold-TiO2 nanocomposites

In this manuscript, for the first time, we report a combination of electrophoretic and sintering approaches for introducing gold nanoparticles into nanoporous TiO2 films to generate 'hot' electrons resulting in a strong enhancement of photocurrent. The Au-TiO2 nanocomposite material was prepared by the electrophoretic deposition of gold nanoparticles into a porous nanoparticulate titanium dioxi...
